What Is The Relationship Between Computer Platform And Hardware?

Hi Zerah,

Well let me tell you the difference between both and then it shall explain the relationship altogether.

Computer Platform:

A computing platform includes some sort of hardware architecture and a software framework (including application frameworks), where the combination allows software to run. Typical platforms include a computer's architecture, operating system, programming languages and related user interface (run-time system libraries or graphical user interface).

Computer Hardware:

The component devices which are typically installed into or peripheral to a computer case to create a personal computer upon which system software is installed including a firmware interface such as a BIOS and an operating system which supports application software that performs the operator's desired functions. Operating systems usually communicate with devices through hardware buses by using software device drivers.

So, the very fundamental relationship is that computer platform is built upon and by hardware and without any hardware, we can not create a computing platform. Although a computing platform is a combination of hardware and software but hardware is an integral part of it.
