Net-book is smaller size and lower performance than Laptop.

Usually Net-book has screen size 8-12".

Laptop has screen size 13-18".

Of-course the price are difference too.

Netbooks are an industry term for a low spec, small screen size laptop, mostly suitable for web activities.
In order to be called a "netbook", a term Intel coined, a system must basically be Intel Atom based with one of several integrated chipsets, no more than 1GB RAM, up to a 10.5 or 11" screen and a limited resolution of either 1024x600 or 1366x768. No CD-Rom or expansion bays, only USB 2.0 & Wifi.

Not all cheap laptops with low specs are netbooks, some AMD based very low voltage systems cannot be technically called a netbook or sold under that name, but they are termed similar monikers have equivalent specs (like an Athlon X2 Neo, or some similar CPU).

Laptops generally are anything that supports many more features, much faster CPU's, are general purpose in nature, have higher res or 1080p screens, expansion bays, full keyboards, etc.

Because of the extremely limited specs of netbooks, most people don't use or buy them if available anymore.
And because Intel purposely limited them to small amounts of RAM, upgrading the OS from XP or Win7 Starter is very unattractive.
For the same money you can get an entry level laptop with larger screen, way more memory, and far more capabilities.

Netbooks are smaller ans less powerful. Most of them do not have a disk drive.

They have small hard drives and small amounts of RAM.

There CPUs are not the best too. They are for internet browsing.

Nothing that needs a lot of computer power.

If you just want a computer for browsing get a netbook.

If you wants a portable computer with good performance Get a laptop.

Not all laptops have good performance.
