What To Look For When Purchasing A New Computer?

When I'm choosing for a new computer I considered this thing first:

- Choose which features you'll need according to what you will do with the computer.

- If you are going to be working on heavy computational jobs (searching large databases, watching video), you'll want an excellent processor.

- Pick a computer brand based on good quality, cost and technical support.

- According to your own possible requires, determined earlier, determine the core configuration you will need, as well as processor and speed, amount of RAM and hard disk drive size.

- Figure out extra drives you need: CD-ROM, DVD-ROM.

- Select peripherals and additional hardware just like modems, sound cards, video cards and speakers.

- Decide how many extra internal card slots and disk-drive bays you may need so that you can allow room for future expansion.

- Determine what pre-installed software you wish or want. Get at least an operating system, such as Windows, an anti-virus program, and programs for word processing, spreadsheets, databases and keeping your checkbook.

RAM: You would want at least 2GB of RAM. 4GB if you plan on gaming.

CPU/Processor: Dual-Cores are put in most computers these days. Any Dual-Core should be fine.

GPU/Video Card: You shouldn't have to worry about if you don't plan on gaming.
