There is no best. Each has it uses. As for the pros and cons, I'm not doing your homework for you, do some research.

Mac in itself is typically superior in customer satisfaction over quality of the product.
Mac computers typically excel in photo and video editing.
However, there is limited options of hardware for Macs as Apple makes the computers and builds them.

Windows computers are better suited for enterprise (business) infrastructures due do how many large scale businesses can customize and lock down the computers.
However the downfall of is that Microsoft doesn't control the distribution process of their operating system so each manufacturer will install their own bloatware (unnecessary / hardware specific software) ontop of the operating system.

Unix (also known as Linux) is popular by many due to the operating system is free, traditionally light weight.
The operating system is transparent and is frequently updated.
The downside of Unix is there is a large fragmentation of different versions of Unix available and not many large enterprise software supports Unix (ie: Microsoft Word).

Mac OS V was back in -- I believe the nineties.
With Mac OS IX they switched to a BSD--that is UNIX based system, which is now Mac OS X.
UNIX can be applied broadly and also mean FreeBSD or Solaris OSes.
Windows has the largest memory footprint of any OS because it is a consumer OS for commodity computers.
Thus it is generally slower than UNIX of any sort.

Home? Server? Multimedia? Database? Consumer? Professional? Enterprise? Embedded? Gaming? Software library? Your question needs these answered first before we can answer it.

There was no Mac OS V it was known as System 5 and did not become Mac OS until version 7. Windows Vista is no longer supplied and so UNIX must be the best as that is the only one that is currently available.

What Is Best Between Mac Os V, Windows Vista, And Unix? What Are The Pro's And Cons Of Both?

OK buckel up kid.

First Windows Vista is in the list of the top three WORST versions of Windows. It was unstable, crashed alout, and it was just a upgrade of XP. Now worst of all Vista had lots, and lots of security wholes that could'nt be pached. Vista also can't handel powerfull games like, Dremanum, Sims 2 with all expansions and settings at max, Sims 3, and online rpg's like War of World craft. Now Windows 7 solves all these problems and allows better backwords compabilty then Vista, so Windows 7 will be used in this comparson.

Next is the Mac and Max OS. First Mac # was old and I mean old, the Mac OS line starts after Mac 10 I think. Macs are great for a few things. The most populer reason is for movie edioting. Unlike Windows Mac OS X comes with Garage band and other applications that make and edit movies. Unlike Windows Mac doesn't get all kinds of viruses. Yes Mac's can get viruses, but they are more difficrult to find. Next Mac's come with certain softwear like Itunes and Safri that don't run that well in Windows or Linux. Also while Mac comes with many decent programs they are super expensive and require very specific hardwear to run. Now the last thing is the CODE and windows systom. The intire windows systom on Mac's just plane suck, becuase you have to do all the short cuts on the keyboard unlike in Windows where you can right click. So even if you can and like how secure make is just stick to Windows because it is much easyer and has lots of good softwear and unlike Mac's Windows are not communest.

Next is Unix, now Unix is a verry old OS. Both Mac and DOS were based on its code. Now Mac's just like Windows used MSDOS back in the day, Mac's have a DOS called Dallwin. Dallwin is similer to Unix code and it is now it's own os. Unix used to be all comand line but now it has GUI versions as whell. One of the good things about Unix is there is no need to worry about VIRUSES or malewear. Unix is also a great os for new and Old computers and it is designed for muitiple users. The only problem with Unix is the lack of new programs that work with it.

Now here is one your teacher probaly hasn't heard of. It is called Dreamshell. Dreamshell is a small os that is less the 15 MB and it installs directly over the BIOS of a Sega Dreamcast. Currently Dreamshell is still in it's 4 beta but it's purpose is still being dertermaind by the Dreamshell team.

Linux has arived, Linux is currently the 3rd most popular os and it gets more and more users. Linux is a verry cool os. First in Linux we have things called distros. aka distrobutions. Eech distro is built for a diffrent purpose or to reach diffrent people. Now Linux is free unlike Unix which most versions are now nonfree. Linux does have some distros that you do have to pay for, but their not many of these out there. Now Linux also is the best OS at detecting hardwear and it has the best softwear for those who are on a budget or like new types of softwear. I can go on for hours on Linux alone but I will try to keep this short as possible for you. Also Linux suports some closed source softwear too. Also if you want to run Windows programs you can use Wine/Playonlinux/Vineyard. Now one of the few problems with Linux is that not many tripple A copanys like EA create products for Linux, but this has started to change since steam was ported to LInux recently. Also progrmas like wine are unstable and someone who swithces to Windows should just forget about using Windows programs.
