Look for keygens on the web. Do not install Ubuntu or Mac Os X it will slow your computer down.

if you bought your laptop with vista installed you can use widows 7 upgrade providing your upgrade matches your installed vista ie vista home premium to windows 7 home premium you get 2 discs 32 bit and 64 bit if your computer is 32 bit use 32 bit. you will only be asked for your windows 7 product key wich comes in the box.

Maybe. If you get a hold of the original iOS for your computer. I'd call the laptop maker and request a w7 disk for your computer. It would be worth the nominal fee to get it sent to you. PS. Don't buy another computer without the os disk again. You paid for it, so where's the disk? if they don't provide it, don't buy it.

It will ask you for the product key.

I would suggest you just install Ubuntu linux. I think you'll find it's easy to use and better than windows.

No, you don't enter the prior product key.

The upgrade discs just want to see the prior OS installation. You'll be fine as long as that's on the computer still -- you don't need the key.

(And if you want to retrieve your key just in case you do need it someday, use the Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder, and it will provide it to you.)

Use a pencil rub onto the code where its rubbed off directly! This has a very good chance of restoring these letters and numbers so they will be useful again. I just used this method and it work marvelously.
