Sorry about the order, spent like an hour deleting and adding on amazon.

Yes, this is a ~450 USD gaming build. I hope to play bfbc2 and oblivion (decently) like I did back in the good old days. Possibly play Battlefield 3, and skyrim maybe?

Please enlighten me if I have made any rookie mistakes, I know an experienced person could glance at this list quickly to confirm, I apologize, I am a person who'd buy an Alienware :(

You have a mid tower case, but a low profile graphics card. You need a full size graphics card! Low profile cards are for slimline cases.

I'd say at least a 550-600W SeaSonic made PSU, the rest is good.

No. Get yourself a GeForce GTX560 1GB or Radeon HD6850 1GB at least. The manufacturer might be good but the GPU is still weak, they can't do anything about that. It's like in Borderlands, that peashooter might be a Vladof or Hyperion but in the end its still a peashooter. Get yourself a machine gun. Add in a bit more juice to your PSU like 550-600W for future expansion and you should be good to go.

With these, you should be able to play Skyrim at High/Ultra settings depending on the mods you install on it.

On medium settings with that GPU at 1080p, no. not happening.

Can you stretch you budget to at least $525?

That will give you a build that can play on med-high settings on the games you want to play.

Just wait 10 minutes, I will back to state the build.

You parts wont let you do well. The GPU is too weak and the PSU is not good. The CPU is old, old mobo, slow HDD.

About budget, try raising it to $546.39

Here it it: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/uVgK

This is a much better build with much better parts. the i3 3220 will do very well in gaming. The GPU, GTX 650Ti is great and will allow you to play on high settings.

The power supply I chose is much much better and you will be able to SLI GTX 650ti later if you want to.

I chose a better and faster HDD. The WD Blue is known to be the slowest among 7200RPM HDDs.

I chose the Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive.

Good motherboard and good RAM also is chosen.

The build will allow you to play with 30-35 fps on ultra settings on 1080p.

Here, check this benchmark: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/C...

The GTX 650ti scores 31.5fps in BF3 at 1920*1080 with 4AA and all other things set on ultra.

You should be good with high settings and still be able to get 35-40 fps.

Overall, your build is not that good for you activities.

I know it might be a bit high (I don't know if you have a budget), but if you can't get it, your build will be fine for low settings in games (still might lag).

No problem OP. Just make sure you get the right parts.
