I used the windows vista to windows 7 upgrade disk?

its kinda of messing up like getting bsod and stuff my question is can i use the upgrade disc to reinstall windows and use the same product key

No, an upgrade disk does not re-install windows. It UPGRADES an existing copy of Windows. That's why it's called "upgrade". You would need to reinstall your Vista, and then use your Upgrade disk to upgrade Vista to Win 7, if you're wanting to completely wipe your Hard Drive and start over with a fresh installation of Windows.

There's a way to use an upgrade disc to install Windows on a clean computer that doesn't contain anything yet. Follow this link:

Incidentally, it would be faster if you can get a copy of a retail Windows 7 installer in ISO format and burn it to a disc or transfer it to a flash drive. What Windows 7 edition and version do you have right now? Email me and I'll give you further instructions.
