Is There An Auxiliary Jack In A 2006 Mazda 3?

Postby eimar » Sun Sep 24, 2017 3:46 pm

I was doing some research on what exactly the "Media" button does in a 2006 Mazda 3 and a few people said that it turns on the auxiliary connection which is found inside the armrest.
Does a 2006 Mazda 3 come with an auxiliary jack somewhere in the car? Because I've been having trouble finding it, but then again, I've only driven the car once (a the dealership, planning on buying it).

Yes the media button will take you to the aux input if the vehicle comes with the jack port,

if not you can purchase the auxiliary input for Mazda radios http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-680-161-p...

or the iPod interface http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-370-161-d...

Yes, but not all Mazda 3's have them. They were an option. Some Mazda 3's had them, some didn't.

The media button has nothing to do with the auxillary connection.

When you hit the 'mode' button, one of the choices that will come up, if applicable, is 'AUX'.
This is the setting that controls the auxillary connection.

The place to connect the auxillary jack on the Mazda 3 is in the center console, at the bottom.

For the first generation 3's (2004-2009), the Sport models did not come with an Auxillary jack, so it will depend on the actual car on whether it is actually there.

If the model you are looking at has a place for an auxillary cable, you will need to go buy the actual cable at an electronics store or Amazon.
They cost $10-$15.

Not that this cable does not charge your mp3 player or i-pod.
A USB connection would be neede for that.

USB was not an option on any 2006 Mazda 3 model.
