Samsung Galaxy Ace Android Question?

The option Cliffy suggested isn't enabled by default. The default method is kinda idiotic in a way.

The default way is to go to Settings, then Wireless and network and then go to USB utilities and then press the Connect storage to PC button which brings up a message (which you should not close) and then plug your phone to the computer with the USB (yes, you have to bring that message up first before you connect) then the enabling screen will pop up with the button which you have to press. Sounds stupid, doesn't it?

Now Cliffy's way is the default Android method (which Samsung changed for whatever reason). To make that the default method. Go to Settings, Applications and then Development and enable USB debugging.

From now on you only need to plug your phone to the computer via USB and then pull down the notification bar and press the USB message which will bring you to the enabling screen with that enable button. Way better than the other method.

You should see "usb connected" or something like that on taskbar beside the clock. Pull the taskbar down.. There should be an option like "select to copy/transfer files bla..bla.."

If you can't find it try using different usb slot on your laptop. It should automatically install the usb storage driver. Another options.. Download samsung kies..

go to settings, and there in connection settings/wireless and network settings > usb settings > options will be there for what you want your phone to do when it gets connected.

Just select mass storage there if you want to do a data transfer, and connect usb again.
