Panda Cloud Anti-virus free or avira free anti-virus?

i'm using Avast! Free Antivirus 5.0. The new version has been released on their website. It s a freeware. You can register yourself on the avast website to recive the registration key . They provide timely updates (small in size, ie. In kb's. Which s usefull for people with limited internet plans ). It s fully legal n it generates a virus recovery database to report avast about the new viruses .
To detect n delete malwares on your comp use malware bytes . Another free software . N a powerfull tool to clean your comp of malwares. I use these softwares myself .

Avira out those two, as panda is cloud based it would be rendered useless if a virus infected the internet connection, personally i think Avast is the most effective, the free version of Avira 10 is terrible.

Avast is a very effective free anti-virus, especially when combined with a top free firewall like Comodo:

If i had to pick from those two and those two only, It would be Avira. I don't know which one is the biggest joke, AVG or Panda Cloud. But either way don't expect much from free AV's Free AV's will let you down. Free AV's all have security holes. If they didn't they wouldn't be free. Free AV's are sub standard compared to Kaspersky. Kaspersky has the largest virus data base out there. If you want hardcore security that will not let you down, Kaspersky is the way to go. But if you are forced to use free i suggest using a sand box program with it. There is no way i would trust my computers to a free AV alone.

You can get a free sandbox program that works very well. http://www.sandboxie.com/ What a sandbox is, It's a virtual program. What it does is make a copy of your running system and put it somewhere else on your hard drive. If you get infected the infection is trapped in the sandbox. It can't execute it's self on your machine. All you have to do is dump the sand box. It will dump the copy and whatever infection is attached to it. Restart your machine. It makes a new copy with no infections.

Right now this is the amount of the Mal ware data base in Kaspersky 4080904. None of the free ones have this large of a data base of known malware. It grows even more everyday. You can't pay much attention to Wiseman. What he is posting is from almost 3 years ago. You have to also learn to take what online magazines say with a grain of salt. Virus Bulletin & PC Mag will tell you anything is better than what ever. They go by who pays them the most to advertise in there rag. Not what really works in the real world.
