I game on my Ps3, would mostly be playing warcraft The frozen thrown on this new laptop. So don't really need a high end graphics card. Now I can't decide what to get. I want to choose something that will last me a couple of years. We have had mixed experiences with HP and Dell.

HP Pavillion ze4900: on board VGA lasted around 2 years

HP DV 1000: MotherBoard replaced in 2 years (sold)

HP DV 4000: Motherboard replaced in approx. 2 years (sold)

Dell inspiron 9600: Going strong, bought in 2007 (dedicated ATI card)

Dell Vostro 1000: Processor got fried, replaced it, wanting to sell it (bought in 2008)

HP Dv6t 1213Tx: Still going strong (dedicated ATI)

I would appreciate if you all could help me choose. Is it better to get something with integrated graphics? vs dedicated graphics? We have had a bad experience with integrated graphics based laptops. Almost all of them developed motherboard issues. Then again Dell XPS with dedicated nVidia graphics card and DV9000 were notoriously prone to malfunction due to excessive heat issues.

So now what to get?

-i3/i5 integrated graphics

-i3/i5 with mid level graphic card

I am inclined towards the Hp Dv6, though it looks bland. I wonder why didn't they use imprint on their new Hp Dv6 line.

Regards

I would get the Dell, it appears to have the most RAM, and that's becoming more and more important in gaming.

Get an AMD A6 or A8 processor, those chips have hybrid graphics, which is different from the integrated graphics you're accustomed to (it's kind of a cross between having a dedicated GPU and having integrated). Additionally they adjust their speed according to your needs, which helps keep the processor cool and expand its life.

HP is really the best laptop vendor to go with right now, mostly because they're packaging Beats Audio, which gives significantly better sound than the usual setup laptops have.

I bought a Toshiba from Sam's Club. If you spend less that $1,000, you will be limiting yourself bigtime. I love mine. I use the internet in my home with a router (because my desktop also share the same internet). I didn't have to buy any accesories for the laptop to make it capable for this. I love it.
