Is Medical Administrative Assistant A Good Trade To Get Into?

Postby Wallace » Fri Sep 29, 2017 10:39 pm

It's just an office worker.
Our largest local clinic pays $13.75/hr.
If you work full time, that's about $29k/year. That gets you a house purchased for about $110,000 with 20% down or an apartment of about $650/month (give or take depending taxes - I calculated 20%).

Please make sure you understand that Medical Administrative Assistant is different than Medical Assistant.
The former is an office worker.
The latter is a position that you must go to school for and be credentialed in.

Yep it is a good career move. Health care tends to employ people with health care experience.

As a administrative assistant you have plenty of opportunities, and as you combine it with other studies (Health administration management, health education) you can move up or across in the field.
