Linux boots, but not windows. All hail the geeks- please help!?

Postby carlton » Wed Jul 25, 2012 10:46 pm

I have an older Dell laptop that I recently installed Ubuntu on alongside Windows Vista. Both systems were working fine for several weeks, but now when I try to boot into windows I briefly get a blue screen before it goes into a reboot loop. Ubuntu boots fine. I need to access Windows for several programs that are not compatible with Linux. Any advice on getting back onto it?

Put the windows disk in and repair it. Its the bootloader. You probally patched windows which changed its bootloader. Then verify that Ubuntu's grub is pointing to the right bootloader.
