Is Insignia A Good Hdtv Brand?

Not really it all depends on you budget. If you have a high budget then go with a Samsung, Sharp, or even LG. Panasonic is trying to revive their quality of tv's so it just depends on the model. For a low budget I would go with Vizio, Toshiba, and Dynex as a last resort.

Its a good named brand but not a great named brand.
Non named brand TVs do not have the precise tolerances in the components as non named branded TV.
The picture is not as precise and software and components that manage the pictures are better in the Named Brand TV.
Most named brand TVs are supported by software upgrades available via download.

If money is tight purchase the Insignia...if you value a better picture and have a little extra cash purchase a named brand solution

They are better than Coby ( a C or D class).

Insignia is more like a lower B class, with Vizio a higher B.

Sony, Panasonic, and Samsung are A class.
