How To Scan With My Printer/computer Combination?

The computer is an HP L1710, and the software is Windows 7. The printer, which is an HP Photosmart C4780, is installed, and everything prints fine, and we can make photocopies, but we can't scan anything to my computer. When I tried to scan from the printer to the computer, it said "Scan Error. Scan from computer or see documentation." How do I scan from my computer? Also, when it does scan, how do I save it to my computer/know it worked?

You need to activate the scanner by going in the START folder and click on HP folder. You will see HP Solution Center...click it and the scanner will work.

or

Go in control panel and click on Scanners and Cameras. You will see the HP icon there. Click it and a menu will pop up from which you can scan using that menu.

You probably need to install the HP software for your printer first.
