I Have Installed 4gb Of Ram But My Computer Only Shows 3.25gb?

XP 32 bit only supports up to 3.5GB of ram, apparently that includes memory for video cards as well.. so I'm assuming you have a 256mb vid card

Because the remaining ram is allotted to motherboard to run your in build hardware properly like sound, graphics, USB etc.

You have a 32-bit operating system. 32-bit os's only support about 3.2-3.5gb of ram. Xpsp3 comes only in 32-bit, Xpsp2 and win7 both have 64-bit versions, which will allow more ram to be used.

domicile windows xp 32 bit coach or use optimum 2bg some one mentioned to me and you proved it domicile windows 7 32 bit use/coach 4gb max domicile windows 7 64bit use/coach 192gbmax -microsoft mentioned and proved

just FYI...any time you ask a computer question, list ALL you specs....i mean EVERYTHING...

cpuid or Sandra Hardware ID will help...google such id programs...

and know your:

cpu

mobo

gpu

ram capacity and ram info

hdd

psu

You would have 32-bit processor.

For more memory support you need a 64-bit processor.
