Graphics Card Makes Computer Not Work?

Postby Eldrick » Sat Oct 07, 2017 4:51 pm

Today I bought a new graphics card off amazon (Radeon HD5450). However when i insert it into the slot and turn it on, the pc turns on but there is no display and the fans are spinning fast continuously.

However when i insert a different graphics card into the same slot the pc boots fine and the fans are normal. i used to have another graphics card which did the same thing but some times it would boot and run for about 25 mins before my pc would freeze.

Extra Information:

OS : Windows XP SP3 32-Bit

4 sticks of ram : 2 1-Gigs + 2 512mb

It sounds like your power supply isn't big enough.

remove the 2 512MB memory sticks. you have a double occupancy of memory with a 32bit OS if that HD5450 has 1GB of video ram.
