Downloading Documents?

Postby Strahan » Thu Oct 12, 2017 3:06 am

Hello, I'm horrible with computers. I have an assignment due and so I go to download the sheet used to fill out the questions. It's from this site.. http://www.leon.leon.k12.fl.us/

On the right there is a link that says Summer Reading Assignments. I clicked that then..

There's a link that says "Major Works Data Sheet"

I clicked the link and it said the document was downloaded, so when I open it in Wordpad it's encrypted. I've downloaded the Major Data Work Sheet from many other sites but they still appear encrypted. What am I doing wrong? I have a Dell Studio 1555 with Windows 7, Chrome Browser.

There ARE free versions of Microsoft Office - I have one, it came with my laptop and is called Microsoft Word Starter 2010. It doesn't have as many fancy features as the paid Word but it works just fine. If you can't find that on the Internet, though, here's a temporary (2-month) solution - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/

Edit: Just Google around, you should find something soon!

What is the filename ending? If is PDF you need Adobe Acrobat, if its DOCX or DOC you need Microsoft Office, or Open office, or Libre Office which are free.
