Could My Cpu Break/catch Fire If I Overclock It Too Much?

The limit of overclocking depends on what cooling you are using, with the stock cooler i would not venture further than 2.6GHz. If you get water cooling you could go to 3GHz, if you get high end water cooling with 2 or more fans maybe 3.3GHz. I would never take a CPU any further. And overclocking will decrease the life of the CPU but you will more likely than not buy a new one before that happens in a few years.
