Advise On Dslr Camera?

Postby benaya13 » Wed Aug 16, 2017 7:56 pm

my sister has a question about her future camera she is buying. She's going into motion graphics and would like a camera that can shoot video and pictures. She wants to know if this camera (in the link) is a good buy or not, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/8 ... amera.html She wants every thing that comes with it and is going to buy a tripod and sometime a new strap. She knows the 411 about cinematography but not a whole lot about photography. (I've been teaching her about it from my photography class) Thanks Any input is great.

Many still cameras have video functions, and especially the DSLRs with video produce decent enough results. However, if video is important to her, she is MUCH better off with a camcorder.

At this point in time, they still do a much better job (and are much more user-friendly) at video and audio recording than still cameras can.

Link does not work. But a DSLR would be her best bet, camcorders to me just do not produce the best "cinematic" results. To me, prosumer camcorders do not match to something like the Canon 7D, 5Dmkii.

Link incomplete. The best option is to get a camcorder for video and a dSLR for photos. Unless you are willing to work without most common video controls and options, do not get a dSLR for video.
